6 Months!

Wow! I can't believe Kaylee is already 6 months old. Time is flying by much too quickly! Right now she is eating her green veggies and doing well. She can sit up on her own, pull herself up to stand (i.e. in her crib and bathtub), she can play by herself for a while, laughs a lot at silly faces and noises, is becoming more and more ticklish, loves the water, babbles and makes silly faces and noises of her own, sleeps like a champ, holds her own bottle, and is rocking back and forth on her knees a lot. Next step, crawling! We are almost ready for her to be mobile. Child proofing the apartment is almost complete. Just a few more steps and we're good to go! The weather is cooling down so and I can't wait to put her in snow clothes and make her my little snow bunny! The last and final exciting news is that her first two teeth came in last week! She has two little nubs on the bottom of her mouth. They're cute... but sharp! Ouch!

Our First Summer Together!

Well it is officially summer and we are loving all the free time we have to spend with Kaylee. She is so much fun to hang out with. She has discovered her hands and feet and loves to play with them, as well as hold things and tries to put anything she can grab into her mouth! She is so close to laughing, right now it's just a half laugh, but still adorable. She smiles all the time and grandma and grandpa Hoffman have taught her how to growl... yes, growl. It's too cute! She also likes to stick her tongue out, and blow bubbles. She is sleeping wonderfully, between 7 and 10 hours at once and then another 2 afterwards in the late morning. Right now she weighs around 17lbs and has already had her first cold and is starting to teeth... ugh. She loves chomping on cold things and may have her first tooth by the end of the month!

Two weeks ago we took our first vacation with Kaylee. We first drove to the coast and spent two days in Eureka and then drove down to San Francisco for two days. Kaylee got to see the ocean and "eat" clam chowder for the first time. Fun! She traveled so well and had a great time!

Kaylee's next doctor's appt is on July 2 and we are not excited about it. She gets her next set of shots, which was not fun last time. She was pretty upset last time and it's no fun watching her get shots and cry her cute little head off... pout. She is such a good baby, though, and I'm sure she'll be fine. Kisses and hugs are great medicine... and Tylenol!

This summer we are going down to Southern Cal for about 2 weeks to spend time with friends and family. Afterwards, we have the entire summer free to spend at home in Redding (inside, away from the heat!) and watch Kaylee grow each day. Everyone is welcome to come visit anytime! Hint, hint!

We miss everyone and hope you are all having a wonderful summer!

2 months!

Can you believe that Kaylee is already 2 months old?!! Time is flying by and all I want to do is slow it down (especially at night when we're sleeping!). Kaylee is doing so well. At her 2 month appointment last Tuesday (May 6th) she weighed in at 13lbs. 10 oz and was 22 1/2 in. long. She is in the 95th percentile for weight! Translation... she is a very healthy baby! She also had her first shots... pout. We got through the first set and don't have to go back until July. She is sleeping like a champ! She is already sleeping anywhere between 6 to 9 hours at night and only cries when she is hungry! She is such a good baby she makes it hard to wait for baby number two... but we will!

I went back to work and am finding more and more that I would love to be a stay-at-home mom if I could. Maybe in a few years when we are more settled. Fortunately, being a teacher allows me to have a break during the summer! Only four weeks to go... or as I prefer to think of it, 17 work days until going back to spend all my time with Josh and Kaylee! I love being a mommy!

We hope everyone is doing well! We miss you and send lots of love and hugs!

It's a GIRL!!!

Welcome Kaylee Victoria Hoffman! She's finally here! Born Sunday, March 2 at 4:24am, weighing 7lbs. 6oz. and was 19in. long. Only 9 days late, one week of false labor (grrr), 18 hours of actual labor and 45 minutes of pushing and she was here! She was such a surprise. We were totally prepared for having a boy. SO many people thought I was having a boy and all my dreams were boy dreams. I didn't have a single girl dream... weird. BUT, we don't care about any of that! We are just happy that she's here, healthy and happy!

We are loving our time spent with her and are so thankful to have her in our lives. She brings a completeness to our family in a way that is difficult to describe. We love watching our different personalities come out through her. She has so much of both of us in her!

She's already holding her head up more and desperately trying to crawl but getting nowhere. She just squirms and wiggles on her tummy until she's tuckered out. God has blessed us so much this last year! It's amazing to see His plan for us unfold each year! Last year He brought us to Redding and this year He blessed us with Kaylee. We can't wait to see what plans He has for us in the future. Until then, we will enjoy our time with Kaylee and raise her to be a strong woman of God. We hope that everyone is doing well and that all of you can meet her sometime and see how wonderful she is!

One Month to Go!

WOW! We can't believe that we have less than a month to go. According to the doctor as of January 22nd, I am already 2cm dilated, so who knows. I could have the baby tonight or in a few weeks... we'll see!

Any guesses on the delivery date??? Personally I think that I'm going to be a little early, but we'll just have to wait and see! The next time I post, there will most likely be the cutest baby you've ever seen with me!
